At MindMovers Psychology, we run groups dedicated to helping coach, mentor and support your child in a friendly, fun and safe environment. We believe that when a child feels confident and believes that they can channel their own internal and external voice, energies and ideas into their own lives and into the lives of those around them, they feel better, make smarter and wiser choices and can cope with the ups and downs of life easier.
We also believe that change does not happen in isolation and that in order for children to feel confident and comfortable with themselves, their experiences and the world, they need to feel connected to peers. When children are able to maintain and establish healthy relationships, behaviour patterns and beliefs, they can strive for their true potential and develop internal resilience to manage the everyday of life as well as the big moments.
Group therapy typically involves six to twelve individuals who meet face-to-face once a week with two trained psychologists to learn and practise specific psychology based skills to better improve their lives. Each group focuses on a specific aspect of personal growth to empower each individual to navigate the ups and downs of their own lives. The interactions within the group give each member the opportunity to notice their unhelpful relationship patterns and practise healthier ways of interacting.
Our groups cover a range of topics and ideas. Here are just a few concepts and areas we target through group therapy:
